Registration Fee: $75 per ensemble

Members of registered ensembles receive free admission to all 2019 WI Day of Percussion events

Space is Limited - First Come First Serve - Register ASAP

Grand Prize Winners will perform on the evening Showcase Concert

Open to all Wisconsin Middle School and High School percussion ensembles. Each participating ensemble will perform a single longer piece (or two short pieces) and receive a 20-30 minute clinic with the adjudicator. The winners of the competitions will get to perform on the Day of Percussion afternoon showcase concert. Additionally, they will receive WI DoP Percussion Ensemble Championship Banners and free entry into the PAS International Percussion Ensemble Competition.  Due to the time needed for clinics, space is limited in these competitions, so please register ASAP. The adjudicator & clinician for this event is Madison-area percussion specialist Cindy Terhune.

MS/HS Percussion Ensemble Competition Rules

  • 12-minute performance time limit - each ensemble may play one longer piece or two shorter pieces.

  • Any size ensembles are welcome to perform & compete.

  • Each ensemble will receive a 20-30 minute adjudication/clinic with Cindy Terhune .

  • Since space is limited, registration is first-come first-serve. The link to the registration form can be found at the top of this page.

  •  One (1) High School and one (1) Middle School ensemble will be selected to perform on the 2019 WI Day of Percussion afternoon Showcase Concert.

  • The following equipment will be provided for use by participating ensembles:

    • (3) Marimbas - 4.3 Octave​s

    • (3) Vibraphones

    • (3) Xylophones - 4.0 Octaves

    • (2) Glockenspiels/Bells

    • Chimes

    • Set of (4) Timpani

    • Drumset

    • Set of (4) Concert Toms

    • Set of (3) Rototoms (8", 10", 12")

    • Concert Bass Drum

    • (2) Concert Snare Drums (High Quality - more 'drumset style' snare drums available by request)

    • Tam-Tam/Gong

    • Wind Gong

    • China Cymbals (14", 16", 22")

    • (2) Suspended Cymbals

    • (1) pair of concert Crash Cymbals

    • (2) Congas (with stand)

    • Bongos (with stand)

    • Piano or Clavinova (if needed)

  • All sticks/mallets & other gear ​should be brought by participating ensembles.
