MHS Bands Winter Concert

Join the MHS Concert Band, Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble for an evening of holiday music and giving back.

The concert will feature the Wisconsin Premiere of Jeff Herwig's  "Freedom", an uninterrupted, three-movement work detailing the struggles associated with Post-Traumatic Stress in the lives of American heroes, and the process of overcoming it. The piece is meant to bring about awareness of the vast number of American servicemen and women who struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress after serving, help erase the negative stigma that surrounds the disorder, and encourage others to take action in one way or another.

Mukwonago High School was part of a 38 ensemble consortium that commissioned Mr. Herwig to write "Freedom" in late 2019. All proceeds from the consortium were donated (over $2,000) to the Semper Fi Fund. In an effort to continue giving back, Mukwonago Bands will also be collecting donations at the concert to be given to the Semper Fi Fund - the total will be matched by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation.
