Blue2 Indoor

Experience Camp

What is the Blue2 Experience Camp & Info Night?

The Blue2 Indoor Experience Camp is an opportunity for prospective members and parents to come see what it is like to spend a day in Blue2 Percussion or Blue2 Winterguard.

The evening will begin with all students and parents in the MHS library so that they can be introduced to the program directors and staff. Students will then break off to meet with veteran members and have a rehearsal while the parents will remain in the library for an informational presentation on the upcoming Blue2 season. Once the meeting is done, parents will have the opportunity to observe their students in rehearsal and ask the directors, staff, and veteran parents questions about the program.

During the rehearsal, students will get to know the instructors & veteran members, learn some fundamentals on the instrument or guard equipment of their choice, make some new friends, and finish the day with a short, informal performance. There is no commitment to the program beyond this one day, so it is a great chance for students to find out if Blue2 is a good fit for them before committing to the entire season.

Non-Percussion students are highly encouraged to try the Winterguard. In the past 2 years, the number of students involved in the colorguard program has more than tripled! It is an excellent time for students to try it out for themselves to see if it is an activity they will enjoy. This is also an opportunity for non-percussionists to get feedback from the percussion instructors regarding where they would likely end up if they plan on auditioning for Blue2 Percussion. Parents are also encouraged to observe rehearsal and talk with other families and the staff when possible.
